Branding Survey

The most successful brands are always authentic representations of the people creating them, especially when it comes to musicians and artists. Don’t be contrived, be honest and everything will be fine.

Brand Identity

Together, these five components create the look, feel, and tone of the group to the outside world. But it's the 5th one that is the most critical. If our message does not inspire and motivate our audience, we're missing the boat.

  • Visual Brand Identity
  • Brand Voice/Tone
  • Brand Values
  • Brand Personality
  • Brand Message

    The GC Brand Survey

We want to ask a few important questions to get an understanding of how you feel about the Gentlemen Callers as group and a brand. Yes, it will be difficult to decipher with over 30 years of members, however, we're hoping to see some commonalities so that we can put together a cohesive brand identity. Think about your time as a student as well as an alum, as both phases have helped shape your overall experience. Your honest answers  will help formalize an identity that will strengthen the group for years to come.
    Question 1
We need a good mix of old and young to really make this work. We are not against shaming those who don't do this survey. Everyone's
    opinions and answers matter.
    Question 2

Define what makes the GC's unique in no more than two sentences. This will be our core brand statement. You can think of this as our value proposition for what the group offers to the world that no one else can.
    Question 3
Define 3-5 core values that fit with your brand statement. These are the things the group should care about most of all. In many ways, they should evolve right out of your two sentence statement around what makes the GC's unique.
    Question 4
Define your brand’s tone of voice with 3-6 keywords. Take your brand statement and your values (from above) and choose a few words to describe the tone of voice that you will use to communicate them--is it serious, sincere, humorous, artistic, professional, raw, refined, humble, confident?
    Question 5
What is your best memory of being in the group? Does it reflect the values and tone of what you've written above? Explain yourself, dammit.
